The Real Cost of Enlightenment

We've all heard stories of enlightened gurus who have relinquished their worldly possessions and embraced a life of austerity. And although it works for them, it really doesn't sound too enticing, does it? I personally like shoes and make-up and pretty things, and I'm not inclined to give those up so that I can embody the spirit of enlightenment.
But in reality – enlightenment doesn't require you to give up your favorite pair of shoes or subsist on a single bowl of rice each day. The true cost of enlightenment is something far more profound: taking responsibility for your own actions.
As a hypnotherapist and expert in the art of hypnosis, I'm here to tell you that enlightenment is not just for the wise men on mountaintops, and it's not what people think it is, but something much deeper and more personal.
It's about transforming your mindset, connecting with your inner wisdom, and realizing your potential to create the life you desire. It is about having a relationship with your spiritual beliefs in which you are a co-creator. And no, you don't have to master the lotus position or give away your possessions to achieve this.
So, what exactly does "taking responsibility" mean in the context of enlightenment? It boils down to understanding that you are the master of your destiny. You have the power to shape your thoughts, actions, and experiences. You are not and have never been helpless, that is an illusion.
By embracing this responsibility, you can embark on a path of self-discovery and growth. It is exhausting thinking that other people hold your power, and that you are a puppet dancing at the end of their strings. Nothing could be further from the truth. You are the creator of your own experience, and if you are dancing, it is your own dance that you are doing, and you can call the steps and change them as you go along.
However, rest assured that embracing responsibility does not equate to being serious constantly. If you know me personally, you know that I am never serious. But there is much wisdom in humor and humor is an essential component in the quest for enlightenment. Like Mary Poppins used to say "A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down".
Laughter not only benefits your mental well-being but also assists in keeping a positive outlook on the obstacles of life. Ultimately, enlightenment involves achieving equilibrium, welcoming happiness, and honoring your human journey. This journey is meant for pleasure and self-discovery, meant for fun and laughter, and I believe that whatever God someone chooses to worship, they all believe in joy.
So, forget about selling your possessions or climbing a remote mountain in search of a guru. The true cost of enlightenment is embracing your power to create positive change in your life, recognizing that everything in your life begins and ends with you and that you are responsible for everything in between. That is quite freeing when you think about it.
Remember that the idea that anyone can cause you to do anything is an illusion. You are the rock, the ripple, and the pond... all at the same time. You create your own reality, and if you own that, then you empower yourself to understand that you can change it at will. Being the person that you want to be is in your hands, in your heart and not anyone else's.
Hypnosis and hypnotherapy can be powerful tools to help you along this journey. Most people have to thrash their way through a series of self-limiting beliefs, negative programming, and even possibly learned helplessness vaguely knowing that something is wrong, but not being able to identify what it is.
Hypnosis is a very powerful tool in helping you identify and transform ideas, thoughts, and habits that are holding you back. I am here for that very purpose, and I'm here for you when you are ready.
The peace and clarity of an enlightened state of being are accessible to anyone ready to take the journey inside because you have all the answers there. You only need to access the resources that are holding them for you.
So in your prayers for peace, and in your prayers for enlightenment, laugh and embrace the knowledge that you are the teacher that you have been looking for.
And if you still want to climb that mountain and give away your shoes, it's because that is what you want to do, not what you think you should do.
Decide how you want to take that journey, look inside your soul, get clear, find your own truth, and set yourself free.
